And I Think To Myself, What A Wonderful World.

That's basically how I've felt ever since being with my new companion Sister Gowans. She is truly sent from above and I know I would not have been able to survive without her the last 2 weeks. We've seen a lot of miracles with our investigator C. but it hasn't been totally hoppin' as far as results go in other aspects of the work like finding new investigators. C. is basically our only solid person we have to teach right now. Which is fine, he is super prepared to be baptized and is still really excited to be baptized on November 22nd, so keep him in your prayers(:
Okay so also this week we've endured a lot of rain/wind storms and supposedly tonight and tomorrow are getting the aftermaths of a hurricane in japan? i don't know really, we don't watch the news or know what's going on in the world, so pray we don't get blown away(: haha
Sister Gowans and I were thoroughly disappointed in ourselves when we legitimately believed we were being abducted by aliens one night this past week because we had seen 3 white owls in like 24 hours then the lights flickered for 5 seconds when we got back to our apartment. we got over it eventually.
Last P-Day we fed seals(: it was great fun. We went to Fisherman's Wharf. I just love the sisters in our zone(: it's awesome.
I love all of you so much! thanks for being my friends(: the gospel is true. living it is the only thing that brings TRUE joy and peace into our lives(:
xoxo

Guys. I've found my soul companion-mate

Alrighty so pretty much we've had a miraculous week and basically Sister Gowans is my twin. We're pretty sure God made us out of the same template. We just laugh all the time and I just love her so much!!

Thursday was our first day together in Sooke. That night we were driving to go see the Smiths, when we were driving past the bus stop and I saw a man there. Sooke is so small, so when you see someone at the bus stop, you pull over and talk to them. So we pulled into the parking lot and went over and talked to him. He introduced himself as C. and he was like "hey sisters!" and we said "how do you know we're sisters?" and he said he had talked to missionaries from our church before when he lived in Alberta. AND he has a copy of the Book of Mormon. We talked to him a little about the Plan of Salvation and said a prayer with him and he became an ITB (investigator to be). We went back for our return appointment with two of our awesome members that just moved to Sooke, Brother and Sister Falentine. #lovethem. We invited C. to be baptized at the end of the lesson and he said "well, yeah!" it was basically like "well, duh! of course!!" haha I had a hard time not laughing out of pure joy that this man was so excited to be baptized! So we set a date with him for November 22nd and he came to church yesterday and loved it. I am so grateful for the miracles God gives us. What a blessing that was. And I know that that was the spiritual confirming answer that God gave to me that Sister Gowans and I are supposed to be serving in Sooke together.
i love you all so much(:

love always, sister brittany anne larsen(:

Don't even ask me what we did this past week because i literally cannot remember

I'm serious guys. This week has gone by too fast for me to remember like hardly anything. Oh, we did have Zone Meeting. That was so great and I received a lot of personal revelation on how to hasten the work in Sooke, specifically with recent converts, so that was really good. We had a really awesome lesson with a former investigator, it went really well and hopefully we can continue to work with her(: Saturday is now "park the car" day in our mission, so we decided to step it up a notch and we parked the car on Friday and on Saturday. That's probably the biggest work out my legs have gotten in the last 14 months. seriously so much walking. on hills too. don't worry, i didn't even fall(: on Saturday we got to do some service for this sweet little lady that we met tracting this past week(: she was really nice and we got to talk to her a little about family history and what we do as missionaries. she gave me like 3 different recipes for some pies...maybe i'll attempt those in the future? who knows. Sunday we had Thanksgiving Dinner with the Smiths! They are so great. literally love that family so much. #shoutout. And then yesterday was actual Canadian Thanksgiving so we had dinner with the Quintons and Leo (recent convert) and that was delicious as well. And we had a sweet Turkey Bowl with the sisters in our zone yesterday and ate chips and dip and sang As Sisters In Zion on the playground. it was wondrous. Oh and transfers!!! so this is probably the funniest transfer call i've gotten so far. i am staying here in Sooke to be with a Sister Gowens (i've never met her), but this is the funny part. sister Han is going to maple ridge to be with one of my former companions, sister Allen!!! so funny. i am so excited for maple ridge to get this sweet little missionary(: she's going to literally kill that place with kindness. if there is one thing that i can say i've learned from sister Han, it is how to love people and show true charity for others!! shout out to sister Han for being the best chinese companion a sister could ask for(: i love you all so much and hope you have an awesome week(: this gospel changes lives.
love always, sister brittany anne larsen(:

Blessed General Conference(:

Alright, so I might've made up a song the night before General Conference called "General Conference Eve". so what? #judgeme seriously though, I really do love General Conference more than Christmas. And next General Conference I'll be home. literally so weird. I received soooo much needed revelation and I cannot even tell you how grateful I am for modern prophets and apostles to lead and guide us as we follow our Savior, Jesus Christ. I loved Elder Jorg Klebingat's talk about how it is OUR OWN DECISION to be happy. Essentially everything is our decision. And we need to take responsibility for those decisions and the things that come of them. We also need to recognize that as long as we are trying our best, Heavenly Father is soo proud of us! I also loved President Uchtdorf's talk. Love so much that he said that "gathering spiritual light is the quest of a lifetime." we have to be constantly nourishing our testimonies for them to be strengthened! I received answers to all of my questions during conference, though I may not have necessarily liked the answers, I learned a lot about the importance of personal revelation and that God will never take away our agency, even with the REALLY important decisions in life. I encourage everyone to watch conference, or watch it again if you've already seen it. The Saturday session was especially powerful to me, but Sunday's session and the testimonies borne about modern prophets was incredible as well.
In other news, I'm still the same ol' klutz as I was before my mission and fell down have a flight of stairs on my back at our RS Pres. house. Gonna need to go to the chiro. for that one. We went to Buchart Gardens today with all the sisters in the zone and Elder and Sister Nickels. They are seriously the best. I have another set of grandparents in those two(: We are still tracting every day, looking for the elect. Please pray that we will find some people who are so prepared that they are just waiting to jump in at the edge of the font!! I love you all so much(: thank you for all you do and especially for all your prayers. What a blessing each of you are in my life(: love you all.
love always, sister brittany larsen(:
