Life is Awesome...still.

Still, my life is awesome(: haha seriously though. So many blessings from the Lord this week. We found a Colombian family to teach and they are so solid!!! they live in this little town home complexy thing and the first door we knocked on the lady was really rude and yelled at us that we weren't allowed to be there but then i tried to ask her why but she slammed the door before i could ask. So we proceeded on to the next door and met this awesome family from Columbia(: we are stoked to teach them. So many blessings. C. is going to be baptized in December instead of this weekend, but please keep praying for him(: i know God answers prayers! I love you all so much(:

The Porchiest Porch There Ever Was

It was a cold winter's night in Sooke, B.C. Sister Gowans and Sister Larsen were as gung-ho as could be, just tracting right along. The first 12 people of the night they had talked to had been oh-so-kind. It was extremely dark as they walked to this old-looking house, laughing and talking as they do all the days. They walked up this semi-sketchy looking set of stairs, but they had seen much worse-looking porches on their missions, after all, they had been out for 15 and 17 months without anything too terrible happening to them on scary-looking porches. They knocked on the door. Waited. No one was home. They left a lovely Vancouver Temple Card in the door. Sister Larsen was half a step in front of Sister Gowans, she stepped onto the first step and was about to step onto the second step, when all of a sudden...*CRASH BOOM BANG SPLAT* we had landed on the ground, laughing our tails off. We escaped with minor bumps and bruises and probably a slight case of whiplash, but it was all good fun. luckily the house was abandoned, so we don't have to pay to fix someone's porch lol good times on the mish. good times.

In other news, 'C.' is still progressing towards baptism on November 29th(: keep him in your prayers(: love you all!!

The Importance of Laughter

It is just so important to laugh. I really don't have a lot of really cool spiritual stories this week, but i do have a few funnies.

-had to go to the walk-in clinic with sister gowans because she was having abdominal pain. the doctor then sent us to the ER that night. we had to spend the night with the Victoria 2nd sisters and i didn't have pajamas. sister gowans was angry we had to go.

-the doctor at the ER sent sister gowans to get an ultrasound. apparently when you go in to get ultrasounds they make you drink 4 tall glasses of water before you go in. now, sister gowans has about the tiniest bladder in the whole world and the whole time we were there she was just about to cry while i was laughing hysterically at the whole situation. we still haven't heard back from the people, but sister gowans is a trooper and seems to be doing fine even though she said her insides are slowly going numb. probably not very good. but it'll all work out.

-walking through the woods yesterday we met a man who told us he couldn't tell us what his own religion believed, but proceeded to analyze every single word i was using like i would say "i have a testimony of Jesus Christ." then he would say "what is a testimony?" and "you weren't even there when Jesus Christ lived." it was just very annoying but really funny.

-knocked on this door. British lady opens it and says "i don't want any Bible thumping today thank you." and was about to close the door when I say "we're actually talking to people about the Book of Mormon today, have you heard of it?" and she says "of course i have, IT'S RUBBISH." *cue door slam* and we walked away laughing our tails off because it has been our life dream to hear a British person use the word rubbish in real life rather than just seeing it on Harry Potter. #lifemade

-our new investigator A. made us a parking spot in front of his house with a sign that says "saints" (see first picture below) it was so funny.

it was basically just a very crazy funny week and i love being a missionary(: telly ho! the church is true.

Increasing My Faith

So basically Heavenly Father just really wants me to have an increased sense of faith right now. There have been a lot of cool miracles this past week that I could go on and on about, but I won't because I don't have much time and I want to focus on something else. Jesus Christ loves us SO MUCH. I thought about it a lot this past week, and I can't get over it. I really can't even put into words all that I've been thinking about, but I would encourage each of you to really sit down and ponder on it for a few moments until you start to realize just how much Heavenly Father truly does want us to return to live with Him and that the only way is through The Savior. He has brought me through a lot of dark times in my life, but especially on my mission. I know that He lives and only wants us to be happy. And I want to be a TRUE disciple of Jesus Christ now and throughout the rest of my life. We simply have to change our nature, not just our behavior, to become truly converted to Him and His gospel. I love you all!
